The Couple Who Fell in Love on the Dance Floor
Some couples meet at work. Some meet through friends. This couple met in a salsa dancing class — and that detail became the entire design.
A friend commissioned the piece as a wedding gift, and everything about it was built around movement and rhythm: the couple's wedding colors carried through the paint and finish, a silhouette of two dancers on the topper, and a line about dancing through life worked into the design. It wasn't a generic "congratulations" gift. It was a piece that, every time the wind moved through it, echoed the exact way this couple's story started.
Cowboy Boots, a Lakeside Tree, and "Making Roots"
This couple got married outdoors, under a tree overlooking the lake where they said their vows. A close friend wanted the gift to feel like it belonged to that exact spot — not just to the marriage in general, but to that day, that tree, that view.
The topper features two cowboy boots leaning against a tree, a nod to the couple's love of boots and the venue itself, along with wording that played on "knocking boots and making roots" — a wink at their personalities and the tree they married under. Two tiny beer shot glasses clink together on the sail, alongside their names and wedding date. It's playful where it needs to be and sentimental where it counts.
Today, that chime hangs on the back patio of the friend's own home — positioned so it overlooks a lake, the same way their wedding did.
Trish and Chad: Guns N' Roses, a Rose Striker, and Two Very Good Dogs
The most recent piece we've made is for Trish and Chad, gifted by someone close to them who wanted to capture the couple exactly as they are. The palette is black, gray, and pink. Lyrics from a meaningful song are worked into the design, alongside their favorite colors. Because the couple loves Guns N' Roses, the striker is shaped like a rose. And on the sail, right alongside their names, are the names of their two dogs: Axel and Bougie.
This one hasn't been delivered yet — it's being gifted later this month — but it already captures something we hear from almost every commissioner: the details that make a Love Chime feel personal are rarely things a couple would think to ask for themselves. They come from the people who know them best.
Where the Details Actually Come From
None of these designs started with a questionnaire the couple filled out. In every case, we built the piece entirely from conversations with the guest commissioning it — sometimes supplemented by the couple's wedding invitation or wedding website for colors, dates, and details. That's part of what makes these gifts different from anything on a registry: they're assembled the way a good toast is written, by someone who's paying attention to the couple's actual story.
